This position reports to the Head of Middle School and the Head of Early Childhood/Lower School
Job Summary: Specialized instruction in Physical Education
Job Responsibilities:
- Specialization in physical education teaching
- Ability to coach sports at a competitive middle school level
- Participation on school committees
- Attendance at divisional meetings
- Dismissal duties and lunchroom duties
- Adhering to Faculty Guidelines
- Staying up to date with teaching strategies, techniques, etc.
- Keeping current with basic technology
- Regular and clear parent and student communication
- Participating in professional development
- Supervision of students during class and other school activities
- Recording and documenting students’ grades and conduct
- Being a member of the Specialists’ Teachers Team
Knowledge/Experience/Physical Requirements:
- Teaching experience (minimum of three years preferred)
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in field
- Master’s Degree preferred but not required
- Teacher’s Certificate preferred but not required
- Proficient to Advanced technology skills
- Ability to regularly sit, turn, bend, reach, walk, talk, hear, and visually identify visitors and regularly lift up to 25 pounds
- A team player with the ability to work well with others
