Application Open — New Memphis’ STRIDE Program

Great teachers are critical to our city’s future success.
Stride is a free program that offers the support early career teachers need to thrive as educators in Memphis. In addition to social outings and fun opportunities to explore Memphis, Stride provides an environment of collaborative learning, peer networking, and professional development. By engaging teachers in their 1st, 2nd, or 3rd years in the classroom, Stride helps retain our community’s most promising educators.  In recognition of your commitment to investing in yourself, we invest in you with a semesterly stipend for participation.
Stride teachers are eligible to earn up to 12 Professional Development Points (PDPs) per year through attending Laps.
Applications are open through September 1st.
More about New Memphis:

New Memphis invests in the most important resource our city has: its people. People are what power great organizations and successful cities. As our community pursues economic development, a talented and growing workforce is the most important resource to attract and grow businesses in Memphis. We know the work of improving our city and ourselves is never finished.

We deliver on our mission by infusing our city with leaders who are passionate about positive community change and have the skills needed to take action. From the experienced executive to the college student, New Memphis provides a continuum of leadership development and community engagement opportunities that impact participants. We work to inspire and develop a pipeline of civically responsible leaders to help Memphis live into its full potential.

We aspire to more than just population and economic growth in Memphis, but growth that builds the diversity of our people, increases opportunity, and extends across every zip code.
