Shortcodes
The event pages are built off of Modern Events Calendar’s Shortcodes. All the filters, views, search, etc. settings for each of the event pages are set at the shortcode level.
There are 6 custom shortcodes:
Categories
To have an event show up on one of the calendar pages, make sure to select at least one of the category options or it will not show up on any of the event pages.

Events with typeform RSVP Pages
1. If you need a Typeform RSVP form to be connected to an event, click on “Edit with Elementor” on the new event page. Once you are in the Elementor set up, add a button to your event content that will link to your Typeform RSVP Page.
2. Set up the Typeform page:
- Add a new page to the site and select the option to edit it with Elementor. (This page’s URL will need to be dropped in the Event page button link setting.)
- Once you are in the Elementor set up of the page, drop an HTML block onto the page. You will be able to copy and paste your Typeform embed code here and should see it pop up on the page.

3. If you are needing to block the Typeform RSVP Page out to only certain types of users or only users with accounts, you will be able to select it from the bottom of the Typeform page — just like with other pages on the site.

How to Change the Fallback Featured Image
1. The fallback featured image is set at the category level. Click on “Categories” under “M.E. Calendar” on the WP sidebar.

2. Click on the category that you want to add/adjust the fallback featured image on.

3. Scroll to “Fallback Image”. Click “Upload/Add New” to change the image. Click “Remove” if you no longer want a fallback image to show when the featured image is left blank on an event.

Schools Archive + Template
Archive Page Logo Size
The image that shows up in the Schools Archive page is pulled from the featured image of each school page.
A square 500×500 px image works best.
If you don’t want the logo to be cut off:
Center the logo on the image and keep a decent amount of white space along each side of the image.
Menus
Profile Dropdowns
Location
The location of the Profile Dropdown menu is under “Appearance” > “Menus”.

Select “Profile Dropdown” from the “Select a menu to edit:” at the top of the Menus page. Then click “Select”. This will bring up the menu and menu options for the Profile Dropdowns.

Adding Menu Items
Any pages/post/etc. that are added under this menu will only show up under the Profile Dropdown when a member is logged in to the site.

Footer Links
Location
The location of the Footer Dropdown menu is under “BuddyBoss” > “Theme Options”.

Select “Footer” from the side bar.

Scroll down to the Footer Description section to add/adjust any footer links.

User Roles + Menus
Location
The location of the Profile Dropdown menu is under “Appearance” > “Menus”.

Select “Main Menu (Titlebar)” from the “Select a menu to edit:” at the top of the Menus page. Then click “Select”. This will bring up the menu and menu options for the Main Menu.

Adjusting Visbility of Menu Item by User Role
Under each menu item there are “Display Mode” settings. These settings allow you to adjust where the menu item shows up and who will see it.
Select “Logged Out Users” for the menu item to appear to anyone who comes to the site and hasn’t logged in or hasn’t created an account yet.

Select “Logged In Users” for a page to appear only to users who login. Since there are user roles with different menu set up on the site, you will then need to select an option of which user/menu you want the item to appear on.
- Administration for the Admin Menu
- Cadidate: Subscriber for the Candidate Menu
- School Recruiter: Subscriber for the School Recruiter Menu
Menu Buttons
You can add in button styling to the navigation through the CSS class: nav-cta.

General Menu Notes
- Order of the all the menu items in the list does matter. The order of the list in backend will reflect the order that the users will see in their menus.
- You will need to click “Save Menu” before leaving the menu page to have the changes applied.
Login + Logout Redirecting
The location of the Login Redirect Pages for each user type is located “WB Plugins” > “BP Redirect”.

Select “Redirect for Member Type” on the sidebar.

Each user type we’ve set up on the site has a login redirect and logout redirect option. Note: currently, all user types redirect to the home page when they logout.
