What is the Day of the Dead?
The Day of the Dead, known as “Día de los Muertos” in Spanish is celebrated in Mexico on November 1st & 2nd. On this Mexican holiday, everyone remembers and honors their deceased loved ones through decorated altars, called “ofrendas” in their homes to welcome the spirits. This day is to celebrate life. It is a traditional celebration where people bring the memories of their loved ones alive and the traditions of their ancestors.
