1st Grade Teacher:
Reports to: School Principal/Lower School Assistant Principal
Essential Responsibilities:
● Demonstrate a love for God and His creation
● Demonstrate a love for working with children
● Demonstrate knowledge of social and emotional development in elementary children
● Demonstrate dedication to knocking down barriers through ensuring equity and access in the classroom and community
● Create an educational environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the needs of all students
● Deliver focused small group instruction
● Prepare instructional materials for assigned classes
● Establish a standard of classroom behavior; maintain classroom management in and outside of the school
● Through the use of data, monitor the academic growth of all students and adjust instruction to meet the needs of all students
● Provide written and oral progress reports to parents/guardians in a consistent and timely manner
● Plan curriculum and prepare lesson and other instructional materials to meet the individual needs of students
● Sponsor student activities, clubs, teams, etc. and tutor students as requested
● Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law and regulations
● Collaborate with grade level team and co-curricular colleagues to ensure the development of the whole child and curricular alignment across the grade level
● Instruct students using research-based strategies and techniques to improve the development of academic, cognitive, social, and emotional skills
● Actively seek opportunities to disciple and worship with students, parents, and peers
● Demonstrate a commitment to personal, professional, and spiritual growth
● Perform other related duties as assigned or directed
Minimum Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree or higher
● Teacher Licensure preferred
● Must be physically and mentally able to perform the responsibilities and duties of the position
● Have a track record of holding high expectations for every student and faithfully working to foster student development and achievement
● Possess strong content and pedagogical knowledge of foundational literacy and numeracy

Pay: $37,451.00 – $65,469.00 per year
