Position Overview:
Empower Memphis is seeking an experienced and innovative Founding Career Exploration
Teacher to introduce students to foundational skills and knowledge across diverse career fields,
including Transportation, Engineering, and Agriculture. The Career Exploration Teacher will
design and deliver engaging, hands-on lessons that prepare students for future academic and
career pathways.
Key Responsibilities:
● Curriculum Development: Design and implement engaging, age-appropriate career
exploration curriculum aligned with state standards.
● Hands-On Learning: Facilitate project-based learning experiences that expose students
to real-world applications of various career fields.
● Career Awareness: Introduce students to potential career pathways and industry
opportunities.
● Skill Building: Teach foundational technical and soft skills to prepare students for future
success.
● Partnership Development: Build relationships with local industry partners to enhance
student experiences.
● Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a positive, safe, and organized learning
environment.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Education, Career and Technical Education, or a related field.
● Valid Tennessee teaching license or willingness to obtain one before the start date.
● Experience teaching career exploration or related professional industry experience.
● Strong ability to design and implement hands-on, project-based learning.
● Excellent communication and organizational skills.
● Commitment to educational equity and empowering diverse learners.
