About Empower Memphis:
Empower Memphis Career and College Prep (EMCCP) is an innovative K-8 charter school
dedicated to providing high-quality education and career preparation for students in the

Position Overview:
Empower Memphis is seeking dynamic, student-focused Founding Classroom Teachers to
establish a strong academic foundation for our inaugural cohort of students. Founding teachers
will play a critical role in building an engaging and rigorous classroom culture while setting the
standard for instructional excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
● Instructional Excellence: Plan and deliver high-quality, standards-aligned lessons that meet diverse student needs and learning styles.
● Data-Driven Instruction: Assess and analyze student performance data to adjust instruction and ensure academic growth.
● Classroom Culture: Build and maintain a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment.
● Student Development: Implement social-emotional learning (SEL) strategies to support holistic student development.
● Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues, administrators, and families to ensure student success.
● Continuous Improvement: Participate in professional development and actively seek feedback to refine teaching practices.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
● Valid Tennessee teaching license or willingness to obtain one before the start date.
● Proven experience in classroom teaching with measurable student achievement outcomes.
● Strong classroom management skills and cultural competency.
● Excellent communication and organizational skills.
● Passion for educational equity and student success.
