Beacon College Prep opened in 2020 with two kindergarten and one first-grade class in the Raleigh area of Memphis and has since grown to educate 360 scholars in grades K-5. The school was founded on the belief that all students, regardless of their previous education or the zip code they were born into, can learn and achieve at high levels when held to the highest expectations. Job Description:

Our 4th Grade Math teacher is responsible for providing excellent math instruction to all students. They will actively participate in professional development and form strong relationships with students and families.
Job Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the privilege and responsibility to ensure high levels of student learning.
- Collaborate closely with ELA teacher.
- Establish a rigorous, supportive, and joyful classroom culture with high expectations for student success, both individual and collective.
- Instruct students purposefully, clearly, and urgently to achieve measurable learning outcomes.
- Coordinate services effectively among internal teams and external providers to support students.
- Track and assess student progress consistently to ensure that individual student needs are met and adjust instruction as needed.
- Identify and promote best practices for math instruction, incorporating promising techniques from within and beyond Beacon College Prep.
- Embrace opportunities for professional growth and development.
- Manage student behavior in alignment with the school-wide behavior management system.
- Conduct conferences with parents, students, school leaders, and teachers to foster strong home-school connections and establish and maintain open lines of communication.
- Demonstrate effective techniques for engaging parents, guiding them to learn strategies that support their child’s academic and developmental growth.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Tennessee teaching licensing with Elementary endorsement (or current enrollment in a licensure program)
- Experience in an urban public school is preferred but not required
