Position Opportunity and Mission
A Kindergarten Aide serves as an integral member of the kindergarten classroom. He/she will support the teacher with preparing materials for lessons and supporting students 1:1 and in small groups. This position is designed to ensure students have a strong foundation in the kindergarten year.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Academic Support
Working with students 1:1 and in a small group on content driven by data
Preparing additional materials that can be sent home to support students academically
Co-teaching lessons throughout the day
Classroom Management Support
Supporting students who need additional assistance 1:1
Reinforcing positive behavior that students exhibit throughout the day
Contributing to a joyful environment
Student Support
Checking homework folders
Preparing materials for lessons
Supervising students during lunch and recess
Ideal Qualifications
Education/Certification
Must speak Spanish
Must have at least 48 hours of college credit or a passing score on the paraprofessional Praxis test, or the ability to take and pass the test by the beginning of the school year
High School Diploma (Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree greatly preferred)
Work Experience
Prior experience working with children greatly preferred
At least 2 years of work experience, preferably in an educational or childcare setting

Ability to work urgently in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment
Written and verbal fluency in Spanish required
