Lead Preschool Teacher

Reports To:
Director of Early Childhood Services

Purpose of Position and Scope of Responsibility:
Under the direction of the Director of Early Childhood Services, this position will be responsible for all aspects of the assigned child's health and well-being in accordance with the policies of the program. The teacher will maintain the correct ratio of teacher to children and work directly with the Assistant Teacher and Director of Early Childhood Services to do so.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required.
Experience with children in a childcare setting preferred.

Licensure:
Tennessee driver’s license.

Principle Responsibilities:
-Prepare children for entry into kindergarten.
-Facilitate learning in classroom via appropriate age-level curriculum and written lesson plans.
-Be consistent with a daily schedule based on Hope House policy.
-Manage the environment in the classroom to facilitate positive social skills and learning.
-Communicate with Administration about classroom and teacher needs.
-Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy classroom environment.
-Stay on schedule with required assessments, reports, and communication logs.
-Work alongside the Assistant Preschool Teacher.
-Communicate immediate classroom needs with assistant "floaters."
-Follow all Hope House rules of classroom etiquette.
-Encourage social, emotional, intellectual, and physical growth.
-Follow Hope House's Behavior Plan prescribed for the child.
-Maintain and update child learning centers.
-Initiate and encourage parent/ teacher interaction.
-Provide all bathroom, meal service and other needs of the children in an appropriate, timely manner.
-Attend required training sessions.
-Attendance appropriate for position at Hope House.
-Fulfills all other responsibilities necessary for the operation of Hope House.
