Position Overview:
Empower Memphis is seeking a nurturing and dependable Kindergarten Teacher Assistant to support the classroom teacher in providing a strong start to school for our youngest learners. The assistant will help facilitate instruction, classroom management, and student engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with classroom instruction, activities, and transitions.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students.
- Support the teacher with classroom organization and materials.
- Supervise students during lunch, recess, and arrival/dismissal.
- Model positive behavior and support the school culture.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; associate’s degree or CDA preferred.
- Experience working with young children.
- Ability to follow directions and communicate clearly.
- Patience, enthusiasm, and love for early childhood education.
