Position Overview:
Empower Memphis is seeking a committed and culturally responsive Part-Time English Language Learner (ELL) Teacher to support the language development and academic success of multilingual learners. This educator will be instrumental in shaping a welcoming and inclusive environment where all students can thrive academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver small group and individual instruction aligned with students’ English language proficiency levels.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices and differentiated instruction.
- Monitor and assess student progress using WIDA and other appropriate tools.
- Communicate with families and staff regarding student progress and support needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of services and progress monitoring.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in TESOL, Education, or a related field.
- Valid Tennessee teaching license with ESL endorsement (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience working with multilingual learners in a school setting.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Cultural competency and commitment to equity and inclusion.
