Student Recruitment Coordinator

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Southern Avenue Charter School is seeking a dynamic and community-oriented **Student Recruitment Coordinator** to lead year-round efforts to increase student enrollment. This individual will serve as the face of the school in the community, building strong relationships with families, community partners, and local organizations to promote the mission of our K–5 charter school. The ideal candidate will be passionate about educational equity, possess strong communication skills, and have a talent for outreach, event planning, and engagement strategies that connect with diverse Memphis families.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive, year-round student recruitment plan to meet enrollment goals.
• Represent the school at community events, churches, daycare centers, festivals, and other relevant local gatherings.
• Plan and host open houses, school tours, and family information sessions throughout the year.
• Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, early childhood centers, and other relevant institutions to create recruitment pipelines.
• Manage the application and enrollment process, assisting families through each step from initial inquiry to registration.
• Track and report enrollment data and outreach efforts; use data to adjust strategies and inform leadership.
• Collaborate with the communications team to develop recruitment materials (flyers, digital content, social media campaigns, etc).
• Maintain a visible presence in the community, particularly during peak recruitment seasons.
• Ensure that every prospective family feels welcomed, informed, and valued throughout their enrollment journey.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in education, communications, marketing, or related field.
• Previous experience in recruitment, admissions, or community outreach (preferably in an educational setting).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and project management abilities.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.
• Passion for education and commitment to the school’s values and mission.

Working Conditions:

• May require evening and weekend work for events.
• Occasional travel within the community for outreach.
