Position: Substitute Teacher
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a love for God and His children.
- Design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned language arts lessons. Develop instructional materials and lesson plans tailored to meet students’ individual needs.
- Regularly conduct assessments and analyze data to inform teaching strategies and help develop personalized goals for students.
- Use research-backed strategies along with school-approved curricula to help students improve their academic, cognitive, social, and emotional growth.
- Establish clear expectations and procedures to maintain a safe and effective classroom environment.
- Create a classroom environment that is warm, friendly, full of joy, curiosity, and care.
- Maintain accurate and complete student records in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills in the classroom.
- Lead students in daily worship through prayer, singing, scripture memory, service, and reflection. Teach biblical truth and incorporate a biblical worldview into every part of the day.
- Demonstrate a commitment to personal, professional, and spiritual growth.
- Maintain consistent and prompt communication with parents and guardians.
- Actively participate as a school community member by attending events, staff meetings, discipleship, and other opportunities.
- Work with grade-level teams and co-curricular colleagues to promote comprehensive student development.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or directed by the principal.
Qualifications and Attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Teacher Licensure is preferred.
- Possesses extensive content knowledge and effective teaching skills in language arts.
- A professing Christian who has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and is dedicated to Christ-centered education.
- Must be physically and mentally capable of performing the responsibilities and duties of the position.
- Have a proven history of setting high expectations for each student and working hard to support their growth and success.
- Knowledgeable about social and emotional development in middle school students.
