Substitute Teacher

St. George’s Independent School seeks a passionate, entrepreneurial, and hard-working
individual who is energized by work with children to serve as a Substitute Teacher,
beginning immediately. St. George’s Independent School welcomes applications from

Type: Collierville and Germantown – Daily stipend of $75 (full-day), $40 (half day) and lunch
Memphis – Daily stipend of $85 (full-day) and $50 (half day) and lunch

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred for most substitute assignments, working
towards a bachelor’s degree required for other substitute assignments

The successful candidate will possess skills and experience that would include the ability to:

• demonstrate care for children and their learning through teaching lessons that are
  provided by the teacher or the school in a dynamic way
• ensure that the time spent in class is treated as a critical resource for learning
• firmly, calmly, and fairly communicate expectations for behavior to students
• ask questions or seek help when needed from administrators and staff in a spirit of
  partnership and open communication in support of our students
• be someone who demonstrates our mission (found here) in the way that they live their
  life

Physical Requirements:Regularly sit, turn, bend, reach, walk, talk, hear, and to interact with
campus visitors as well as others who telephone. Must have the
ability to understand and present materials and communicate
with constituents and co-workers in a harmonious manner.
