The Soulsville Charter School is seeking a great, full-time instructor to teach World History for the 2024-2025 school year.

We currently offer the following courses to our students:

Middle School (Grades 6-8) English Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Music, PE and Special Education. Elementary, middle, or secondary licensure/certification is required. (Alternate route licensure/certification is possible.)

High School (Grades 9-12) Math (Integrated Math I, Integrated Math II, Integrated Math III, Statewide Dual Credit PreCalculus, Statewide Dual Credit Statistics, AP Calculus), English (I, II, III, and IV, AP Literature, AP
Language), Science (Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Statewide Dual Credit Plant Science), Social Studies (World History, AP U.S. History, AP Government, Statewide Dual Credit American History, Economics, U.S. Government, Facing History and Ourselves, AP African American History), Music (Band, Strings, Choir, Percussion, General Music), World Languages (Spanish I – AP Spanish Language), Special Education Math and ELA, Lifetime Wellness, Physical Education, AP Computer Science Principles, Graphic Arts & Design, Graphic Media, Creative Writing, Intro to Entrepreneurship, Personal Finance, and ACT Prep/ Junior Seminar. Subject specific licensure/certification is required. (Alternate route licensure/certification is possible.)

 

Begun in 2005, The Soulsville Charter School (TSCS)’s mission is to prepare students for success in college and life in an academically rigorous, music-rich environment. Located in the inner-city neighborhood of Soulsville, USA, in Memphis, TN, TSCS is adjacent to the site of historic Stax Records, where the Stax Museum of American Soul Music now celebrates and preserves the Stax story.  TSCS began with sixty students in sixth grade and has since grown to serve 660+ students in grades 6-12 with about a third of the students living in the Soulsville community. TSCS is a tuition-free, public charter school that is about changing kids’ life trajectories.
