The Soulsville Charter School (TSCS) is seeking candidates for the role of a Behavior Interventionist.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: This individual will provide direct behavioral support to general education and exceptional education students who exhibit moderate behavioral challenges within and outside the classroom setting. This role is designed to support students’ access to the educational environment through evidence-based behavioral interventions, collaboration with staff and families, and ongoing progress monitoring. This role requires a person of compassion, perseverance and intuition.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide individualized support for students demonstrating moderate behavioral challenges in classroom and non-classroom settings.
- Assist teachers and staff in managing student behavior to maximize instructional access and student success.
- Support the implementation of student behavior intervention plans and maintain daily behavioral data and progress monitoring documentation.
- Provide short-term interventions addressing specific behavior deficits with the intention of returning students to the classroom with the least interruption to their academic progress.
- Implement applied behavior intervention strategies and evidence-based positive behavior supports for assigned students.
- Conduct ongoing assessments and collect data to monitor student progress and intervention effectiveness by collaborating with teachers and staff.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to strengthen knowledge and skills related to positive behavioral supports, particularly for special populations
- Collaborate with parents and guardians throughout the behavior intervention process by providing strategies and resources that promote positive behavior development at home.
- Serve as the RTI²-B representative during RTI Data Team meetings.
- Collaborate with the School Counselor and Exceptional Education Case
- Managers regarding assigned students and intervention planning.
- Collaborate with the Exceptional Education Aide to collect data for a Formal Behavior Functional Assessment
- Attend monthly culture team meetings with Middle and High School Deans of Students.
- Serve on the Special Populations Team
