Chief Financial and Operations Officer
New Hope Christian Academy
The CFOO reports to the Head of School and is a member of the Executive Leadership Team. The CFOO provides
strategic leadership, vision, and management for all finance, human resources, and business operations areas.
Job Responsibilities:
• Demonstrate a love for God and His children and a relentless commitment to the unique mission of New
Hope Christian Academy.
• Oversee financial operations, such as, but not limited to:
o Long-term budget planning in alignment with the strategic plan
o Cash flow planning and ensuring the availability of funds as needed.
o The budget planning process in collaboration with the Head of the School and Finance
Committee
o Oversee financial aid, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
o The creation of monthly/quarterly financial board reports monitoring adherence to the budget
o Maintenance of accurate records of all financial transactions to ensure compliance with
regulations.
o Legal compliance, contracting, and claims management.
o Financial and accounting systems, processes, tools, audits, and control systems.
o Manage vendor relationships, ensuring cost-effective solutions to meet the school’s needs.
o Purchasing processes and procedures.
o Plan and supervise appropriate stewardship of all annual and major gifts.
o Work with the Head of the School to develop long-term capital planning goals.
• Oversee and manage all human resource functions and processes.
• Provide leadership, direction, and management of:
o Kitchen staff and operations
o Technology staff and operations
o Facilities staff and operations
o Business Office staff and operations
o Security Staff and operations
o School Health Staff and operations
• Develop systems to ensure efficient and effective operations.
• Maintain and foster high ethical standards, integrity, and respect for colleagues, alums, parents, and
students.
• Respect and maintain confidentiality and rights to privacy applicable to individuals and institutional
records.
• Work with the Head of the School to coordinate and establish priorities for the planning process.
• Foster professional standards and development by participating in local, regional, and national
associations that offer personal support and professional assistance and development.
• Perform other related duties as required or assigned by the Head of School.
• Support the school and its leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business management, or related area of study (CPA or
advanced degree in finance or accounting is strongly preferred).
• Ten years or more of leadership in accounting, finance, operations, or general business management,
preferably in an independent school or nonprofit organization.
