Hutchison School, a PK2-12 school for girls, seeks a full-time Upper School Social Science teacher with AP experience for the 2022-2023 school year. Upper school teachers typically instruct five classes of approximately 17 students each. Candidates should be conversant with current practices in AP instruction, history and social science education, and culturally responsive teaching. Upper school teachers also supervise an advisory group and perform duties such as carpool, study hall oversight, and class trip chaperoning, as necessary.
The ideal candidate will have three to five years of successful experience teaching Upper School history courses and other social science classes, preferably in an independent school setting, and will be comfortable teaching girls in a student-centered environment. A Bachelor’s degree is required, and advanced degrees are preferred. AP experience is preferred. Candidates should be passionate about both the field of history and social science and the equitable development of adolescent girls.
