Role Synopsis

Instructional Coaches at Grizzlies Prep College Preparatory Charter School are responsible for bringing evidence-based practices into classrooms by working with and supporting teachers and administration with the goal of building teacher capacity to increase student engagement and improve student achievement. This role includes driving top-tier classroom instruction by providing personalized support based on the goals and identified needs of individual teachers. Instructional Coaches report directly to the Director of Curriculum and Instruction.

Expected Outcomes

  1. 75% of coached teachers respond favorably to the statements about feedback and coaching on coach effectiveness surveys.
  2. Coached teachers demonstrate a 10% increase in achievement or growth as measured by Interim Assessment data.
  3. Coached teachers score an average of 4 in all domains of the TEAM evaluation rubric.
  4. Consistent and systematic support will be provided to all Core Content teachers ensuring that 90% of Grizzlies Prep students meet their individual academic performance goals.
  5. Support of teachers will result in a high quality, cohesive team demonstrating through word and action the values and practices of Grizzlies Prep.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of K-12 teaching experience with proven academic results
  • Track record of supporting and coaching adults to achieve ambitious goals strongly preferred
  • Commitment to frequently using data to inform high quality decision making and drive performance

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing and actively monitoring student behavior while teaching.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to assist students who have physical impairments.
  • Must be able to traverse classrooms and adjust height, by bending or leaning, in order to teach each child.
  • Must be able to facilitate classroom transitions by walking through hallways and up and down stairs with students.
  • Prolonged periods sitting and working on a computer to complete necessary paperwork.

Salary Band: $60,000 – 70,000 Salary depends upon experience that the candidate has with successfully leading a team of adults to achieve outstanding results. Leading a team is defined as having had a formal leadership role in which you were directly responsible for the performance of direct reports.
