Believe Memphis Academy

Overview

Believe Memphis Academy Charter School (“Believe”) is a grades 4-8 charter school founded in 2018. In the summer of 2021, we moved into our permanent facility in the historic Corry Junior High building in the Alcy Ball community of South Memphis. We believe our greatest ability and opportunity to impact the lives of students exists in direct correlation with our ability to stay rooted in our community and connected to our children and families. As a school whose founding years have been impacted by the pandemic, social unrest, racial reckoning, and political polarization, our Mission has been clarified to exist as an anti-racist organization that resists systemic racism perpetuated in public education in our country. We believe that change can and must happen through intentional community building, precise teacher coaching, and robust supports provided for all members of our school.
